I took wallpaper off some paneling will washing with Downy remove the glue?
Answers:
In the past I have used hot water mixed with ammonia and sprayed it on with a garden sprayer. The trick is to leave it on as long as you can to let it soak into the paste, then wash it down with warm water and a sponge. This is not a fun job, good luck.

I have used steam. Walmart sells a steamer that should get the glue off..

You could use Dawn dish soap or of course my all time favorite Go-be-gone or Goo-off but you would probably have to buy a lot - Dawn may be your best alternative, never heard of Downy removing glue.
Soaking in cool water will remove water-soluble glues, e.g. casein glue. For waterproof varieties, use spirit solvent, e.g. methylated spirits (wood alcohol) or amyl acetate (test before using on synthetic fabrics). Artificial Nail glue can be removed used acetone (test on an inconspicuous area first). Acetone evaporates quickly, so hold a wad of absorbant paper or soft cloth against the glue, and soak the acetate through from the other side. (The glue soaks on to the wad of absorbant)
Ace Hardware has a product called" Chomp " it really works great
Vinegar & Water disolves the glue. The hotter the water the better.
