How come you can't lie down on a rug made of wool??

Answers:
Why can't you?
My mother-in-law had and old braided wool rug and it was over 50 years old.
We laid on it, with our clothes on of course.
I also had a rose pink wool carpet in a house that we rented, we laid on the floor but made sure we had a blanket underneath us.
Sheep are grazing animals that chew a cud and need to lay down to do so.
Sheep are shored for there wool only once a year, so you have a years worth of shrubs, sticks, thistles, etc that have attached its to the wool.
There has not be a tool or machine made yet that can take out all of those pesky little leftovers from the shrubs, sticks, thistles, etc.
Because of that, we itch because we are getting poke by those micro leftovers.
