How do you find out what Occupied in japan porcelain is worth?
Answers:
Start with these books: "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Occupied Japan Collectibles," "Occupied Japan for the Home" or "Occupied Japan for Collectors" which may be available at your local library - no need to purchase them to identify one piece. Sometimes these are available in antique malls so you might manage to sneak a [free] peek there also.
There's an OJ club with a website but it's not set up to be helpful to non-members.
Then there's always ebay. I like to set up a search statement in ebay for something I'm looking for so that it automatically emails me when something matches my search. This service can be set to run for a specified period of time. The trick is getting a search statement that's not so specific that it rules out everything, but specific enough so you don't get notices of lots of items that you really aren't interested in.
