Is there any tricks to finding a good cheep mattress?
Answers:
If you have a store in your area called Beds 4 Less, definately check them out. They sell good quality mattresses for low prices and their salesmen don't work on commission, so they aren't a pain in the *** to deal with. They are also one of the few remaining places left where you can buy double-sided mattresses. Lots of people don't realize that these new "no flip" mattresses are a rip off, you are getting cheated. It's not that you don't have to flip a "no flip" mattress, it's that you CAN'T flip them because they only have one side! A one-sided mattress simply won't last as long as a two-sided mattress that has been flipped when needed.

Check for a local manufacturer. Shipping and handling account for a large percent of the cost of bedding. You can save money by disposing of your old mattress sometimes too!
Yep. That would be a good trick!
Remember that you usually get what you pay for.
You want good, shop for good.
You want cheap, shop for cheap.
You want good and cheap, lower your standards in both.
go look on craigslist im sure ur find one
You have to go in to the store with a price that you would pay in mind, find a mattress that you want (that isn't ridiculously out of your range) and then try to talk the sales person down. If they won't budge try walking out of the store. If you actually make it to the door they wern't going to budge on the price. Otherwise, they will probably stop you and offer you a lower price. If this still isn't working try craig's list for a used mattress.
Good mattresses aren't cheap and cheap mattresses aren't good.
Now that's an oxymoron if there ever was one! You can either purchase a good mattress or cheap mattress, but never at the same time. After years of trying to do this and never quite being able to do it, I finally decided if I took the cost of all the sleep aids and back ache medication and applied it to the cost of what I had spent on a number of mattresses, I could have purchased a good one to begin with and been better off in the long run. You just have to decide what's more important to you. Many people will spend a fortune over time painting and fixing up their home and something so crucial to health and well being is often skimped on. You spend a good many hours of your 24 hour day in bed, doesn't it make sense that this should be considered an investment as much as a sofa? Go to one of the bedding outlets and look around. Do some comparison shopping and by all means, test them out before you buy! There are alot of gimmicks, but usually a good mattress will carry some type of warranty, so if it doesn't have one, it probably won't last long. It may not seem important now, but it will make a difference in your back and other areas of your body in a few years time.
