Is IKEA in Michigan too Busy to go shop and enjoy the experience?
Answers:
OH MY GOD!! I made the trek to Canton last weekend on Saturday, June 10, midday... and you know what? I am not going back to that place for months at least until it dies down. It wasn't enjoyable at all!
No joke - I felt like I was walking on New York City streets... people bustling everywhere, you can't get to what you want to look at. We wanted to eat, oh-hell-no, we weren't about to wait in line like cattle for food, I don't care how good it is! And checking out? Unless you are buying a few small things on credit card, then you have to stand in lines that must have been 20-30 feet long!
No, I'm not going back. Not yet anyway. :)

Well, I don't know about IKEA in Michigan but shopping in any store is best done in off-peak hours/times if you are worried about crowds. I like to go in the morning during the week for less crowding!

We usually hit Ikea Woodbridge midweek in the morning. Its awesome. My hubby discovered Ikea when he was stationed in Japan and they docked in UAE. We love it. We've turned many people into addicts. Be prepared to spend several HOURS there though as Ikeas are HUGE and winding. Also all large items will be in the downstairs near check out for you to pull so make sure you make a list of with bin #s or youll have to back track.
