What kind of paint does not chip or come off for any reason?

What kind of paint does not chip off? I am painting somethign that is plastic and metal and when i use ordinary paint, it keeps chipping off. I want to know what kind of paint manufacturers use on their products because the color never comes off factory products.

Answers:
When I worked for the Army Corps of Engineers, we used an epoxy paint on the concrete floors (it might work with plastic, it uses chemical bonding) and Rustoleum brand exterior grade paint on the equipment (steel) of the lock and dam that I was stationed at while attending a local college in Central Arkansas, it was a very hard material to chip away, as we tried to do that to older paint, usually we had to grind it off, but the paint lasted, the rust under the paint is what caused the separation of the materials. You must prep the area really well to attain a good seal so that moisture doesn't work it's way into joints of the steel, wood, concrete or whatever surface which you are applying it. Not sure what is used these days in the factory, but most heavy and expensive equipment maintenance repair shops use additives to paints which are in automotive finishes, and the market is dominated by DuPont. I might suggest trying a auto store which sells that type of paint.

Try scuffing up the surfaces to be painted and then painting with a new spray paint called Fusion by Krylon. If you make sure the surface is clean, dry, and dull it will never come off.
Make sure the surface is primed properly then go to a reputable paint shop and ask for emron paint. I believe it's the paint that is used on aircfaft or vehicles that are exposed to rough conditions, cost is around 100 a gallon or more
Plastic will not bond with any paint other than a new product by Krylon made esp for plastic.I am not sure about the metal.go to www.krylon.com
Permanet paint duh loser.
The preperation in painting is the most important part and I would use epoxy paint very durable but there isn't any paint that is not going to chip if that was able to be done every car would be painted with it !
