What's ggod for removing stubborn, old wallpaper?

I've tried a standard wallpaper remover paste, which took away one layer only to reveal a really old, original layer - and it wont budge...any suggestions. Thanks, Klaus.

just try wetting the wall paper with regular tap water and let it re moisten the glue after a few minutes start pulling it off slowly.

Friends!
They have a little wheel with pokers on it at the hardware store you just roll it around all over the wall paper then spray it with half and half vinegar and water and your wall paper should come right off.
we have taken off alot of old wall paper this way that is layer after layer.. getting the moisture behind the wall paper is the important part.
works great..
Use one of those wallpaper perforaters and then spray on a half and half solution of fabric softener and water. Let it soak in and then scrape.
First you need to buy a wallpaper scorer. Has lots of pins on the part you put on the wallpaper and scores it so when you spray the mixture of 1 part fabric softner to 4 parts hot water, it will penitrate the wall paper and loosen the glue on the back. Most designers use this to remove old wallpaper. Let the water mixture sit on the scored wallpaper for about 5 mim. Then use a large putty knife to remove the wall paper. It is important to move the scorer around the wallpaper in a circular motion and do all the walls before you begin to spray the mixture. Use Lots of the mixture on the wallpaper . Keep it very wet! Good Luck
