Help! I need to add color to a light brown and white bathroom!?

I'm renting so painting is not an option - but I need to add some more color to my bathroom! I'd like something more retro, but I cannot find something that I like!
Right now I have white towels, and light brown towels, white rugs, and a white shower curtain with a brown border. I figured I'd want something neutral when I bought these things, but now I need to brighten things up! It's boring in there!

You can always paint, just do it in a ninja voodoo secret style and make sure you paint it back when your lease is up. If not, fresh flowers work really well and by the way you described your bathroom, they will really stand out. I had the same problem with my bathroom. It was tan and white, so I hunted for things with any little bit of tan in them and they went fine.

Shades of pink or orange might work.
Shades of pink or orange might work.
i think blue would look really good not royal or dark but a light sky or aqua blue
try something like greens and oranges.
What about a burnt orange??? (orange-red)
Easy, add yellow. What could be more fitting for a bathroom than brown and yellow?
I'd use red, towels, painting, and accessories.
I think a Sunflower motif is great for the bathroom and would probably coordinate well with what you have. One thing you can do, though, is ignore the brown and put in whatever you like. Brown is a neutral and can go with anything--even black. Just go out and find some things you like that coordinate well with each other and do it up the way you like it. I'm sure it will work just fine.
You're actually in a pretty pretty good position to really pick up the visual interest in the room. You've got all neutrals. Just add the right accents, and you're good to go.

Everything you mention that you already have is either white or brown. White goes with everything, so I'd take my cue from the browns in the room. Have a good long look at them. Are they more yellow/orange-ish, or more red/pink? Occasionally I've even seen some bluish browns, but not often. If what you already have leans toward yellow or orange, I'd go with some bold yellow a/o orange accents. Reddish/pinkish browns get red or pink accessories, and so on. (Side note: Pink and brown is one of my personal all-time fave color combos! ;-) )It's won't take much to really make some impact. Try a boldly colored soap dish and lotion pump set, with maybe a hand towel in the same or similar color. A bath rug along the same lines would go a long way toward adding the visual interest you're looking for.

Good luck to you, and happy decorating!
Hancock Fabric carries fabric with retro look. They have some with blues , browns ,and whites, also with brown , orange, and white, also some with pinks and browns. You could use fabric to put over your white shower curtain as a topper. Also use the fabric to sew some on your towels. Use accents in the shades of turquoise, that is the blue I was referring to earlier, look for one of those old plastic chair in the blue one for your setting area. Find a fun print in the poster area or find a puzzle that has the look you like and frame, picking up on the colors in the pic for your frame and mat. Have fun. Or look in the garden supply area and get the pink flamingo and go with pinks and don't forget pok-a-dots.
