How much does it cost for an interior decorator to make recommendations on colors?

How much would it cost to have an interior decorator come in and take a look at our cabinets, counter tops, floors, furniture, etc... and make recommendations on colors for the walls?

Answers:
Decorators typically charge by the hour. For a skilled decorator with good credentials expect to pay at least $75.00/hour. This will pay for itself many times over if the creativity and design ability of the decorator leads to considerable added value to your home.

I would, however, make a point of looking at the decorator's finished product in several homes before making a major commitment.

It depends on who you get. It can vary anywhere from hundreds to even thousands. Try going to Ethan Allen. They make the best recommendations. Mikasa Crystal?
