How do I locate sewer lines in my backyard?
Answers:
there schould be inspections points raised above the ground,if you locate these then you will be able to draw a line between the risers to see just where the pipe run is,failing this if no plans are available push a length of wire down the pipe from the house and hire a metall detector and find your pipe that way make sure to pull the wire back out when you have finished

City inspection office.
You should be able to stand at the back of your house, locate the main vent stack. The sewer line should travel straight back to your alley. It's usually a straight shot.

Unless you have an alley behind your house....my guess is that your sewer line enters your house through the front and not the back.
There may be a marker on the curb and gutter.
Or like the other person said call your local dig alert company to locate. They will only locate on the public property and not private property but at least you will know where in the street it enters your property.......
