Help! Painted Laqured self-absorption, and the paints chipping.The hubs is contained by trouble!!?

So, The hubs painted the black Laqured Vanity. ( or whatever it is, I reckon thats what it is), and Now it looks like CRAP and it's chipping.

SO, I hold 2 weeks till My daughters birthday party where on earth we'll have resembling 50 people here.
I involve a quick fix and have the hubs commited just doesnt seem to be like it will work :) ( I requirement him to help atleast)

Answers:    Lightly sand. Use a primer paint. Paint. Varnish.

OR

If you want to get creative, rub a candle on the edges and on the top, where on earth normal wear and crack would occur. Paint a drastically light coat (don't cover the entire surface) next to a water base matte latex in environment blue. Sand lightly contained by spots, showing the black paint in some areas. Again use a candle as earlier, and paint the entire top in a adjectives blue. Sand in spots to afford the piece a distressed look.
