Building a house lend a hand please?
Answers: Basic rule of thumb to have a fresh home built is $150-$175 per square foot. Of course the price goes up for anything special or fancy, but this give you a starting point.
First, I would contact the city or county to see if the property is suitible for building. There are several variables ... Perk test, positive drainage, setbacks. If it is surrounded by a subdivision, you will need to know if nearby are any community restrictions. Such as whether they allow vinyl siding or if they require hardiboard. Or if they require brick. Most of this will be covered when you go to acquire your permit. You will enjoy to have your building plans and a plot plan to submit to the warranty office. They will evaluate and permit you know if you can build on that property.
