which windows are better for a ground floor dinning room.. sliding or the open close types?

Answers:
That depends on your personal preference. It also depends on the size of the window.
Side-slider windows do not look very nice, but are convenient especially when they tilt-in for cleaning.
Casement (open/closing cranks) look nicer - and I like them better personally.

If it's more look that you are going for and the window is large enough - do a picture window (doesn't open) in the middle, and a casement window on either side. I think that looks the best.

Also, this dining room is on the ground floor - if security is an issue, you could do the above (casement-picture-casement) just with narrow casements (providing of course that this window is not an egress window).

Hope this helps!

French doors - prettier.
French doors - prettier.
If you have a deck or patio outside the dinning room I would opt for sliding glass door or french doors, if you don't have a deck or patio I would go with a picture window with windows on each end of it that open, or a bow window.
