After working in AR doing construction projects, I can only suggest that you not take the lowest bidder. You should get at least 3 bids for any work you want done, and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give any contractor a deposit for work you want done. A good contractor has open accounts with their suppliers, and will not need a deposit. You can expect to pay a deposit with any contractor for "Special Order" materials, this locks you into the project because the contractor can't return the "Special Orders"
