Your client is a petite, grey, blue-eyed, and remarkably soft-spoken woman. Which one of the following...?
A. Strong colors, such as bright red and hot pinks
B. Her favorite pastel colors, such as a elegant pink and subdued, light greens
C. Earth tones, such as flushed browns and rich, dark golds
D. Dark Victorian colors that enhance the woodwork, such as muddy browns, reds, and greens
Answers: B
C- I would even dress this up next to some metallic gold... perchance stitched into the window dressings or embroidered on a pillow.
Not A- Bright colors are contrary to her self. She is soft-spoken and petite... not flamboyant.
Not B- Pastels will be too muted; she'll dissolve into the woodwork.
Not D- Unless she's a Christmas elf who misses the evergreen forest.
If I am trying to enhance her I deliberate I would go next to B.
However if I was trying to enhance the house it would be C. or D. Probably a cross between them liking toward C.
I am not a decorator. Just a person who know what he likes.
B. No doubt.
B - it suits her.
I would turn with A. She is probably a firey party just waiting to explode and she might be capable of show her "wild" side or flamboyount side by painting a bright strong color.
She wants to feel comfortable within her environment not intimidated. Color should embolden her, relax her, strengthen her, and give her comfort.
You might also draw a circle and ask her to put a word surrounded by the center that describes her, then extend lines that verbs to describe her in colors until you capture a fix on her palatte of colors.
