I'm redecorating my room with an Australian theme. The walls are a light pastel green, and I have some green and blue tropical flower sheets by Lilu on my bed. I have a boomerang above my bed and some shells on my desk. I've just recently ordered some prints of koala bears, sydney harbour, etc. I also have a raffia-like curtain on my window. It's starting to come together, but I still feel like it needs something. I would like to get a new lamp, but not sure what kind. Any ideas for what to add?

Contact the Australian Tourist Commision in NYC, if you live in the US, and ask them if they have any old promotional posters they would be willing to send you. You can have them framed and they will make great decorations. Some people think of the outback when they think of Australia and some people think of the Great Barrier Reef and the tropics. Sounds as though you are going for the tropics. You could also get a potted palm or two for your room.
