If you apply breathable exterior paint to a wall (outside)?

How does it allow dampness to escape but keep the rain out?

Answers:    i ruminate the principle is like gore-tex, river molecules get out but drops are too big to capture in

within reality i dont know, and whether anyone else does any, what the definition of 'breathable' is. depending on the type of wall you are talking almost painting near any modern type paint can be a v. bad concept. the only properly breathable paint i'm aware of is lime clean and thats been proven over centuries
