If you want to create a spa retreat in your bed and bad go with minimal look.

Also the color scheme should be calm and cool colors like taupe's, Grey blues, even cool greens.

I designed my bath and I used 4 inch white tile through out including the walls with a green glass Mosaic accent tile. We installed two vanities, very minimal in a very dark almost black finish. We added a garden tub and a separate shower closet with glass block tile. It turned out better then I imagined it.

In my bedroom I did a gray blue accent wall. The furniture is very modern urban, with a very dark finish like the vanities. Overall I was very happy with the end result. I hope this helps, everyone has there own style, getting ideas from magazines and HGTV helped me a lot! Good luck!

Get a designer in there. That way you are assured of great results.
If the price of a designer is an issue, you could perhaps contact a college/university that teaches Interior Design and see if they could put you in contact with an appropriate student.
