I don't mean how to set dishes/china. We basically purchased a large wooden table and I stipulation ideas on what manner of runner and placemats to get. I don't want a full tablecloth since it will secrete the wood but I want something that will cover enough to dishes, etc. don't chisel the wood. I have no notion where to start. Thanks.

Depends on what color the room is. What color accents are contained by the room, like curtains. Is it a issue room, like a cafe, or wine motif?? Need more info.
