Which is best wood fireplace or gas fireplace?

We have freshly purchased a house with no fireplace and want to append one. We are hearing different opinion about which is best.

Answers:    the B is obviously a hand built brick FP near or w/o a gas pipe.
you can buy other metal inserts, but still have to enjoy a smokestack or triplebestos or brick.
TB requires a woodstack framework and brick requires a base resembling a basement or footing to start next to.
That would depend on whether you have access to wood, or whether you necessitate to buy it from someone else. Do you live on the prairies or in a big city, or do you live up north where on earth there are trees that you can access? Wood is nicer, but messier. Gas is cleaner but not suitable during a power outage. Good luck.
I don't know where you live, but fireplaces are a refuse of wood. If you have a woodstove you can tamp the fire down and spawn it last adjectives night. The grill goes up the chimney. A lot of ethnic group are using gas stoves now for bake. Some places don't allow wood smoke anymore. A fireplace is pretty , but if you are heating a house and not merely wanting pretty, get a stove. Some of them enjoy screens that you can put on when you want to see the fire, but chopping wood is a lot of work, don't permit it all progress up the chimney. Hope this helps some.
I would step with wood; because if the gas should turn off contained by the winter you still have a source of boil with wood, assuming as you would expect you had plenty foresight to stock up on it.
check with your homeowner's agent first to see if you will still be covered if you give a woodburning fireplace. We have a gas fireplace surrounded by our family room and it is nice, although not as nice as the smell of existing wood. But there is no cleanup involved beside gas and no creosote buildup in the chimney to verbs about.
