Does anyone know where on earth I can find hardware for concealed floor hatch?

I am putting on an addition and enjoy a floor hatch which provides access to a small basement. The hatch will be a door which will be finished next to the same wood flooring as the rest of the room, but I am have a very strong time finding hardware to make this work. Specifically, I am trying to find a approach to make the door easier to break open. I was thinking shocks/struts approaching you would find on a car trunk, but don't really know where on earth to start. Thanks.

Answers:    You are making this more complicated than it needs to be. Just use door hardware, installed on the bottom of the hatch. It will be marked in the crypt, but not on the surface of the floor (just like a door hinge is marked only on one side of the door). If you want to keep hold of the door from swinging open adjectives the way at once, use a "door closer" of the benevolent sold for screen doors. Good luck!!
You can find exceptionally useful elevated quality materials and hardware at maritime boating centers. They provide hardware that you will not find at Home Depot and there is tons of option available. For your project you may want to see what type of HATCH hardware is available. They have struts \ springs, supports, ---- you identify it.... also- I have see very handsone recessed hatch pulls made of brass and chrome.
