Anyone own a "manufactured" home?
Answers:
We recently bought a modular home, similar to manufactured. We had an option of 4 or 6 inch thick walls. Those same options may be available in your parents trailer. I doubt this would prevent major damage in a hurricane but it could keep the actual walls from collapsing.

Not really. If you're going to spend all that money trying to reinforce it you may as well have bought a regular home. If the winds are strong enough...the roof will be ripped of and it could possibly be ripped from the foundation. But so can a regular home. Although they are a little stronger in the way that they are built and you have more control over how it is built if you are involved in the process. But no home is truly safe from natures power.
