For those who like tuff questions!,what can i do to hide my washer-dryer that is in my very small kitchen?

I have a very small kitchen/laundry, the kitnchen is 7' and a half long and 4' of walking space, followed by a 2' and a half long and 3' of walking space laundry (it's like a hallway). The entrance from the garage to the kitchen/laundry is on front of the washer-dryer, (the door is 2*8). And my real concern is that I resently decorated the living and dinning area very very nicely and you can clearly see all the very white and plain kitchen/laundry and ofcourse it doesn't match at all with the rest of the decor of my house. The decor consist on rich chocolate, gold, cream tones, with leather, iron, wood, bamboo, textures and some stones and topiari touches here and there. I can't really come up with a creative idea for the kitchen /loundry to like kind of hide away the laundry (if possible) and try to make the kitchen white and plain cabinets to blend in with the rest of the decor of the house with a low budget. Thank you so much for your time, I'll be waiting for your answers.

We built a cabinet that was only 6" deeper and 8" wider then our stacked washer & dryer. We put a bi-fold louvered door for ventilation on the front. It is connected to our kitchen cabinets and looks like an extension of them.

It works pretty well and doesn't look too bad.

Your space is very tight. Good Luck.

paint your washer-dryer camoflauge. It can hid better that way.

Couldn't you build a large wooden frame around it with doors and make it look somewhat like an Armour or wardrobe?
the only thing i can think of is to take a sheet or large piece of material and "paint" it, or design it in the colors that match the rest of your house and drape the material over the appliances. it would be like a "mural".
the simplest solution to disguise your W/D combo is to build a removable counter-top to go over the top of it. Accessorize it as you would any other shelf in your apartment. You could also drape the front of it with a decorative fabric that could hide the door/s of your W/D.
easy, just put it in a cabinet
Have you thought about those folding closet doors?
Or maybe a simple shelf above it (high enough to open the washer) then a curtain on a tension rod underneath. The curtain can co-ordinate with the colors/decor of the rest of the house and you can put decorative containers on the shelf that hide your detergents and things.
make a slip cover to hide it and then you can use it as extra serving space. Go to a fabric store and pick something out that matches and then if it gets dirty you can just wash it like you would a sofa slip cover. You can even keep the slip cover over it, and only remove it when doing laundry that way it is always nice looking, if it is a stackable washer and dryer, make aslip cover from canvas and paint on it so it will be an original piece of art work of your own.
I would try to put up some curtains that match the rest of the kitchen.
Maybe you can go out and buy a tention rod, like the ones that they use in bathrooms for the shower curtian rod, then you can buy some more of the material you used for your curtians and put them up there, or with all the differnt bathroom decor ideas out there now a days you could find a shower curtian that matches your decor, and put it up there and no one would know any better, Its hard to give you good ideas with out seeing pictures of the space, maybe you can go to home depot and get hinged doors, the cheaper the better, the kind you would get for a closet, and refinish them with strips of bamboo, to go with your theme, sorry if im off on what kind of ideas you need but again its kind of hard to imagine the space with out any pictures :) if you can email me a picture that would be awsome, ill be more then happy to help you brain storm :) chrystal_lynn2002@yahoo.com
How about getting some cup hooks and screwing them into the ceiling and getting some lacy material and hanging it from the cup hooks. Any color you like. You could laso use beads. Many stores have a variety of hanging beads, in various colors. Some wood or bamboo would look nice with your colors.

You could also use a folding screen. We have one of those photo phrame wood screens that we got a bunch of artowrk and put in many of the pictures. It came with images that are kinda neat.. Some tropical birds, a sailboat and stuff like that. I cut out a piece of art from a magzine. It's got some words printed across it, but it's just small so I dont' care.

You could cover the "panel" of the applaice that shows with some contact paper or wallpaper or fabric. For the fabric you could just use starch and a walpaper brush to smooth it out.

If you are handy, you could make a plywood screen yourself. Just get some hingest and cover it like I suggested above or use a staple or glue gun.

Good Luck.
