Satin Gloss Paint...Can I make it shinier?

I bought a gallon of Semi Gloss White Paint. It is the Satin Gloss, but after it dries, it looks chalky.
Does anyone know IF I could add something from the paint store, Lowes, to make it not so dull when it dries? Would adding some clear sealer help? I hate to waste the whole gallon.

Sometime's paint's stay in factor's to long are has gotten frozen and the paint not any good. Then there are 1. Low Grade 2. Middle Grade 3. High Grade now which did you buy. Semi gloss paint are Satin, Eggshell, Low Lexture paint's people either use these paint's to hide detation's are to be able to clean with a rag when getting dirty. Sense i dont know if your painting, Wall's or Trim we will go into both. 1st let's start with Trim only with oil paint if you are not happy with the shine you can add Polyutane to it which some may called Varnish but the side effect's are being white it will turn yellowish threw time. Latex get some Flotro Lowes will not have this product you have to go to a paint store. It will cheaper for you to go buy a high gloss paint and redo if second coat will not make you happy. 1st coat's some time's soak up depending on new or repaint's 2nd Wall's apply more than one coat because the paint on the wall my be soaking your 1st coat in or up how ever people wish to call it. This surely will happen on new wall's the sheetrock spot's will soak up the 1st coat badly one thing you never do is listen to a sale's paint rep. For they have no experince in the field they work on commision the more product's they sale the bigger there check is they go to school's and are coached to sell there paint. Latax on the wall paint you can use Flotro to give you a better shine but we back at square one it's cheaper to buy a high gloss paint if you second does not give you the look your looking for. I know we went the long way around the bush to get where we needed to be i just didnot know you project at hand this advise i give you is my pleasure and with all due respect i do wish you the best on what you paint. Now if you have any unopen white paint you can return for a refund. White only. ICHOOSETOTELLTHETRUTH

Is it semi-gloss or satin? If it is semi-gloss it should have enough sheen to it and if it is satin (low gloss) you could try adding a higher gloss paint (of the same brand and quality) but there is a possiblility of having flash spots on the wall after the paint dries. Flashing is dull spots where the 2 kinds haven't blended properly. It could be a no win situation...having to purchase paint twice more either to mix with the old stuff or having to paint again to fix the flashing that may happen. You really shouldn't mix a shinier clear into the paint either the flashing could be even worse.
