Tile or hardwood in the kitchen?
What have you done in your house?
Answers:
tile is better as hardwood is more susceptible to water stains and other stains...
tile is easier to clean and maintain...
tile is also more environmentally friendly...
Other answers:
Light is better because reflects light and brights up the place. If tile or hardwood... depends on the style of furniture you have. If it is a classical style I would go with hardwood. If your kitchen appliances look like props for a Sci fi movie, then tile.

I prefer hardwood. Pecan is my favorite. A word of advice though, if you have kids or entertain a lot, go with the tile, clean up is so much easier.
tile. light. I actually prefer concrete to tile but oh well.
tile in the kitchen is the way to go. hardwood in a kitchen just don't cut it. they tend to crap out faster. also you want your kitchen to stand out from the rest of house. Im an electrician and have seen many kitchen floors. If you tend on spending alot of time in kitchen, hardwoods wont stand up like tile
I like both. But i prefer hardwood. I have hardwood in my kitchen, which it just goes with my house style better. Tile is good also, i was thinking of putting it in my bathroom. It really depends on your decorating theme i think.
I've had tile, vinyl, and hardwood in my kitchen. And without a doubt, hardwood is the best. It's easy on your legs; you can stand comfortably on it longer than on tile because there some "give" to it. It's easy to keep clean; just wash it with water and a little white vinegar. It has a much warmer, homier look to it than tile, which can appear cold. (As well as be cold on your bare feet.) And if you drop a glass or dish on tile, it shatters into a million pieces; not so with wood. In addition, I've had tiles and grout chip and crack. (And you'll have to have the grout sealed so that it doesn't stain.)
I've had my hardwood floor in my kitchen for 15 years and have never had to refinish it. It looks as good now as it did when it was first installed. You couldn't pay me enough to put in a tile floor.
I agree with tile, its easier to clean
Hardwood does look better but it can absorb bacteria and can lead to sickness later, its also hell to clean.
Theres always just a roll out linoleum option
tile.from experience, it is easier to maintain tile in the kitchen area than hardwood.
I have a relative that has hardwood in their kitchen. When they bought the house, the floor was already installed. She hates it. You have to be so careful. She spends all her time having to immediately clean it, if anything gets on it. Tile would be much better. Easier to clean, don't have to immediately wipe it off -- can finish cooking, doing dishes etc. then clean it.
tile
i have tile in my kitchen and i love it because its durable and you have a variety of styles of tile to choose from
You can buy a high quality vinyl that looks like tile but don't have the disadvantages of tile or wood. Easy on the feet, warmer, won't shatter things when dropped, cleanup is a breeze no sealing to be done, no refinishing wood or tile, doesn't scratch like wood or crack like tile when something is dropped on it won't warp when wet...
If you go with hard wood you could cover high traffic or potentially messy spots with painted floor cloths wich will wipe up spills easily .Go to Martha stewart.com for instructions to make your own
