Some cool stripes are ones done in the same color. YOu can get a chocolate brown, or whatever color you like best, and get it in FLAT and in HIGH GLOSS. You alternate each type of the same color paint to make vertical stripes. Looks awesome!

Try painting 2 walls pink with different sized brown circles, and then do 2 walls brown with different sized pink circles. If you want it interesting you could try to do a few different shades when doing the circles. And you could even add white circles if some of your furniture is going to be white. or put smaller white circles inside the bigger color ones.
If you dont like circles you could always paint 3 walls pink and then put alternating blocks of different shades of pink and brown as a focal wall. If you do it this way your furniture would look nice a darker color like your browns so that it off sets your mostly pink walls.
Then the sky is the limit with decorating items. But if you do circles try to keep that theme with your decor, also use oval and elipticall items (oval mirrors, round night stand, eliptical lamps and accents.)
The same goes with the squares use square diamond and rectangular shaped items. ( a diamond mirror, a square box lamp, and a tall night stand.)
Be creative and make it fun. Stripes can b cool to. Start looking at magazines and tv shows. and get a feel for what it is you like and then start having fun. Good luck :)
Color can work wonders... it can change the look of a room and change your feeling about the room. Gathering samples is a great way to begin.
