Primer for my wooden cabinet?

I have OLD wooden cabinet that are stained. I know I need to insubstantially sand and prime them, but what kind of primer do I call for? These cabinets hold been here (and be stained) in in the order of 1953???

Answers:    After you sand, use a sanding sealer, and sand near a very fine sandpaper "600 grit" and later stain them again.
I'd use Kilz primer. It's the best I have found so far and you can find it at any hardware or chief store.
