Is it true that a oval shaped wardrobe hanger pole can hang more than a round one?
Answers:
It depends on the thickness from top to bottom. The thicker the pole is from top to bottom, the more strength you should have. If you were looking at per volume of the pole, then yes if the longest portion of the oval was directly up and down.
So it could be stronger or weaker, depending on how you consider everything.

I can't really judge you because I do answer some of your questions BUT,,, the shape of the hanger and what it hangs on have nothing to do with WHAT HANGS ON IT.
Certainly you can STUFF, but the width of the area is what determines HOW MUCH or HOW MANY,,,Sigh
To HANG, the strength also has to do with what the bar is made of. Wood, Conduit, 2 inch pipe, the span certainly will sag if not supported mid way, depending on how much weight you hang.
