If I put a ventilation unit above my stove, do I necessarily want to put the oven immediately below the stove?

In this case, it would be one stove/oven unit (I'm looking at Viking or Thermador). The alternative would be to have the oven mounted higher, and separate. Many thanks.

Answers:
It doesn't matter. Ovens don't require an over head vent. Ovens that are at eye level or above waist high are easier to move pans in and out of. I had to put mine in below the cook top because of space limitations. Getting a heavy turkey out of the hot oven is a challenge.

Other answers:
I would then you would need only on ven. unit

The vent is for the stove top, not the ovens. Pu t the ovens wherever you watn them, and put the stove under the vent hood.
