When selling house is it better to put contained by strange hearth rug, walk out antiquated or renew hardwood floors if underneath?

The carpet is fairly dated, and my roommates cat tore a couple holes in the stuff also. Would giving the buyers (if I ever find any) credit towards getting any color unmarked carpet they want better than installing a color they might not approaching?

If you hold hard wood underneath i would try to revamp it!! you could gather alot of money instead of buying carpet and the buyers dont close to it. From my understanding wood have more value than hearth rug anyway. I think that it would be a plus to enjoy the wood. It might even change your luck next to buyers. especially if you put a fresh coat of paint that compliments it.
