when installing ceramic tile floor does one need to use a wet saw for installation at a 45 degree angle?
Answers:
no, you can use a dry diamond wheel on a mini angle grinder to cut your tile. also you can eye up the spaces between, you do not have to use the spacers
Other answers:
No, but it sure makes the job a lot easier.
The pro's don't need the spacers, in most cases, they are able to eye the distance.

Wet saw is necessary since floor tiles are much thicker than wall tiles therefore hard to cut.Best to use the saw in an area where spray off the saw won't mar walls etc.
Spacers are good idea to keep it all even unless you've got a very good eye.
For best results a tile saw is recommended but if you are just trimming a few small pieces you can use a tile nipper to trim off a small section say around a corner where it won,t be visible but for best results a saw would be in order. And spacers are always a good idea to keep the tiles uniformly spaced.
u will make many 45 deg cuts, wet saw will make it easier but u can use the reg. draw cutter.....some will use the spacers if a large open area, smaller area ( 10 x 10 no they dont)
get u a good laser level that u can put on the floor if a large area to give u a good starting point.....find center of room both ways and make sure u dont end up with a small ( 2" or less) pieces on the wall ends...

a wet saw makes life a lot easier... so i would reccomend this... they are also cheap enough to buy just for a one off job....aslo an angle grinder with a diamond blade is just as good and they are cheaper to buy... as for tile spacers just look at these what color should i paint my room???
