What was the price of a sewing machine in 1971?
Answers:
Good one cost between 40 to 80 dollars depend what you wanted it to do. I Got a Singler from 1953 and it cost $38.00. Today it's value is $500.00 if I would sell it.
Now a cheap one cost between 10 to 30 dollars. I mean cheap.
Also depends on bran name too.

scence everything was cheaper (like way way cheaper) like 10 bucks, i guess. idk.
$20
I would say around about £50 for a good one.
my mom bought one in Ireland for 20 pounds and that was a lot that time as we didnt have a lot of money but it did wonders for her, curtains , bedlinen and she made most of her own clothes and saved a fortune, i think we are spoiled these days!
I have a Bernina that was made and purchased sometime in the early 1970's. I am sorry that I don't know if it is from exactly 1971 or not. This information may not be useful now, but it was $289.99 when it was bought. It was obviously worth the money, as it still works perfectly now.
