you can still see the paints strokes. like some places are darkers and you can see where i painted because some places are lighter shades. its hard to explain its all uneven..and i dont know what happened. how can i fix this?

It just sounds like you didn't blend the paint very well, and need a second coat. When you put another coat of paint on the wall, make sure that you're taking the excess paint off the roller/brush before putting it on the wall and making sure it's smooth before going onto the next patch. Many types of paint (especially dark colours) need at least 2-3 coats to make it look even.
