I am the 3M Large Hook with Command user in Taiwan. It is clearly said that the adhesive can hold firmly to the smooth wall and leave no damage. However, according to my experience, the hook I used seems not able to hold the weight marked on the package. What is worse is that the paint of my wall came off, sticking to the adhesive. The branch company here in Taiwan doesn't want to take the responsibility to repaint my wall.(My apartment was newly decorated 3 months ago) . I wonder if this happend to any users, too? even not the same case like mine. I've asked some of my friends, they all agreed that not all hooks can hold the weight marked on the pacakge.Some worked, and some didn't. As I know the hooks with adhesives sold in Taiwan are also produced in Taiwan, authorized by the 3m US HQ.

I wouldn't recommend the hooks for anything large or heavy. Dont hang mirrors or heavy framed artwork, because the hooks sometimes don 't stick well to the wall. Luckily I had a thick floor rug that caught my mirror, so it didn't break.
I now only use the 3M hooks for small, light weight things.

I used a very small hook and put a rather large wreath on a painted door. It held for a while (months) and then one day fell off. When the hook came off so did a layer of the semi-gloss paint. Just today I purchased a larger hook and am letting it set up for 1 hour (as per directions) before I put the wreath back into place. By buying a larger hook, I hide the chipped paint.
