It's not the chlorine that cause the fittings to corrode. What causes corrosion are the minerals, lime and iron are the primary ones. Softening the hose just replaces these compounds next to sodium, which doesn't corrode.


Answers:    It seems that answered your own sound out, install a good sea conditioner, not a water softener, I own found out there is a difference
