I don't know much about Scottish Law but in England and Wales you can get something called a budgeting loan from the DWP, depending on your circumstances ie if you claim any benefits you may also be able to apply for a Community care grant, try www.dwp.gov.uk
If your unemployed and on income support put in for a loan from dhss .
