tablecloth is very difficult to iron. How do I make it permanent press?

Permanent press fabric is treated with a chemical solution that makes it more resistant to wrinkling. It's not a process you could do yourself, and I don't think there's anyone who would do small-scale treatments. Your best bet is to iron it and keep it rolled around something with tissue paper in storage, not folded - you could use something as simple as the cylindrical containers for mailing things like posters. It sounds like a great heirloom to pass on, so I hope you figure out something good!

I don't want to be mean but tablecloths r out of style, so place it into a box, and just wait, but for now its all about a large table with a runner down the center.
But What I do when I dont want to iron something, I trhough it into the dryer by itself for a while, you can also take it to a dry cleaner and they would perment press it for you, I dont think its really perment but what eva', another thign you can do for a quick fix is use starch when ironing it, that will make it easier and it loast longer
I don't know of anyway to permanent press it, about the only thing that will work is mist it with a spray bottle of water, and use the highest setting you can on the iron without damaging the fabric. I wouldn't use spray starch as if you are going to store it you might discolor the fabric, be sure to wrap in acid free tissue paper for storage.
I love tablecloths and use them every day. I would suggest you take to an experienced dry cleaner and ask him to "Roll" it up. If you place it on a long tube, like gift wrap tubing, it won't wrinkle.
Don't put this in a "Box" because they are out of style!
I do a lot of sewing and when I have to make curtains or other large panel projects using 45" fabric from a bolt I always open it flat and roll it onto one of those rolls that home dec fabric comes on. It does a great job of flattening the center crease out of the fabric. The same idea might work well for your tablecloth. Ask at your local fabric store. They might be willing to give you an empty roll and a bag that will cover it.
