best decorating theme for my room...?

my dad is going to change the arrangement of my room. I love cute and elegant stuff... please help me to think of any good ideas in making my room fantastic...haha!

Answers:
Depends on what things you need to do. Set down and write what functions you want it to serve, then choose the colors. You can start with a painting you like and make it your source of inspiration for the rest of the room. After that start planning for the type of furniture you like best and think won't be annoying after a while. Never copy a room unless it's perfectly good for you and I don't think it would. Make it a custom made room just for your own convinience. Good luck...

My vote is a Nascar theme.

use pastel colors for the paint and then choose an accent wall to paint a dark or light color and then put a border wall paper up something with a design you like
Depending on the budget, and those things you most like, I'd suggest go with "what you enjoy"

The bedroom may be your very personal "Sanctuary" that place you spend time to have privacy, and peace. It may be where you spend MOST of your time in fact, when at home?

If you do spend MOST of your time there, you should enjoy the environment...It may be there awhile!

If, for example, you were on your own, and had money enough, or time enough, you might want to, and be able to, change the decor as often as you change your mind?

I suggest just go with what you most enjoy, and don't overdo. The possibilities can still be nearly endless, and YOUR choice.

Rev. Steven
Just did a young girl's room (outgrew little girl stuff, not quite ready for more adult theme) and we had a ball. The room had recently been painted in a pastel pink color, so we left three walls. On one wall, we painted it a cocoa brown color. After this dried, we took round sponges purchased from the dollar store and made large polka dots...pink (from left over paint) and the aqua that's so retro and in style this season. A duvet cover and large bolster was made from fabric found on clearance in these colors with sort of a patchwork theme, but the squares were polka dots, zigzags and geometric designs. The window was done in a brown sheer over miniblinds and a scarf was draped over the bed area. We took those silk dragon fly lights and strung across both. The rest was easy. We bought cheap round wooden knobs from the hardware store and painted them in the polka dot colors. So as not to damage the bedroom furniture for later use and still blend with out theme, we took pink ricrac and hot glued it around the mirror frame to add some color. A few of those pink fuzzy chenille pillows, an old bamboo hamper in the corner(chocolate brown of coarse filled with oversized silk and fabric flowers, the table lamp that looks like a handbag, we even found some pretty chic framed art of Paris cafe and shopping scenes at the dollar store. It's about creating a space that fits your personality and taste of the moment. These are colors and items Tasha would mention when we went out shopping, so we tried to incorporate her tastes into her room and went from there. Have fun with it, and remember nothing is set in stone. You can add things as you go and everything can also be changed out gradually without alot of expense.
First off go look through some home magazines or even pay attention to the decor on TV shows. Get an idea of what you like and write down some of the things you saw. You will start to see a repetition of what you really like.

Also look around the house for things you can reuse.like old scarves or lace to use for shams or window dressing. Even old furniture with a new coat of paint can be good. I like to turn things upside down and sideways and look at them for other uses instead of what they are intended for.

Most important have some fun and make it uniquely yours. Play with color, look at the sample displays at the paint stores. Don't forget to look at your ceiling and see if there is something you can do different there.

Good luck!!
You didnt say how old you are, so, why not go with lots of white and flowers?
