I am going to buy a new kitchen sink. Assuming I buy the right size is there anything else to consider?

Answers:
Enamel sinks tend to cause more breakage in your glasses, because there is no bounce. Stainless steel has a little more bounce and you won't break as much.

The sink depth and holes for the faucet are important. You should determine what faucet matches with the sink while at the store and verify that they will go together.

Under the counter sinks have different installation that an over the counter sink, that drops into place.

You should also look at the configuration of one bowl versus two bowls and if they are different sizes.

Yes. I installed my own and the one I got is too shallow (sounds weird I know but it is) so I always kind of mess up the bench and end up wearing half the water when Im washing up. Also I like my sink because it has got equal size sections (two parts one for washing and one for rinsing, the shallowness i never thought of at the time). Just make sure you get a tap that swings if you get the two-tub one.

The number of holes for the faucet you'll need. If have a three hole faucet and only one hole in the new sink, you'll be sunk. Pluse, if you are going from a single drain to a muliple drain, or the drains are in different positions, you'll have to re-pipe the drain pipes. My suggestion is to get a plumber's help on that.
The first answer is spot on. Sink depth matters, as does a faucet that allows large items to be placed or removed easily.

The material is up to you. Stainless is popular, but enamel sinks sell as many.

All good answers so far. Referred to as enamel sinks in other answers, keep in mind that porcelin sinks are prone to be chipped if something is dropped in them. For that reason, many people choose stainless steel.

In addition to the considerations already identified in other answers, be aware that there are several grades of stainless steel sinks. The cheapest sinks are formed our of a fairly thin sheet of stainless steel and are easily dented. In addition, low grade stainless steel has a high carbon steel content and is prone to pitting and some minor rusting. They are also susceptible to staining because they are not highly polished.

A high quality stainless steel sink will cost you more money, but many of the abovementioned problems will be minimized.

Good luck with your project.
