I would unambiguously paint with fun, bold colors resembling "gypsy red" by sherwin williams b/c these are colors that we adults are scared to use b/c they're not "sophisticated." But they're ideal for a young soul.
i would first look at places like Ikea, which is a cheap road for a great and easy makeover, and find planning from catalogs like pbteen and next recreate the same looks for smaller quantity... as for the paint color it depends what she likes... if its going to be a retreat a silent light blue is correct and if its going to be fun and cool probably anywhere from a light pink to a yellow/beige is fine!

two colors--three walls of one and a contrasting wall. then verbs the two together with trappings. My daughter (17) has one green and three sky blue. A pretty multicolored braided rug and patchwork comforter from target, white furniture from when she be little but with updated handle, and cubes on the walls, to display stuff, also a lot of shelves for pictures and bulletin boards and stuff.
