How much does central heat and air cost for a 1400 sq ft home in oklahoma??

Answers:
My setup cost a bit over $6000, but I went with an efficient 12 SEER 5-ton with dual-stage blower on the new heat-pump. 5-ton is well over the 4-ton recommendation for my 1650 sq ft home in blazing hot New Mexico, but I wanted to have nearly instant response to temp adjustments (plus, I'm an overkill kind of guy anyway). You could very likely find a system including a nice efficient AC unit and heater/air pump for $4500-$5000 installed. 1400 Sq ft is not huge, and if you don't have cathedral ceilings and poor insulation, I'll guess that a 3-ton system would do the trick beautifully (call your local companies for in-person analysis). If you have a TLC Plumbing in your area, call them for a quote. They have teriffic business practices and very good pricing. You should get at least 3 quotes and consider all the options before signing a work-order. Cheaper is not always better and may even cost you more, in the end, when you start getting the electric bills.

Your price will balance on:
Quality
Tonnage
Features (digital thermostat, dual-stage blower, etc.)
Efficiency (below 10 is not recommended, higher=better but $)
Complexity of installation
Company providing the service
