Can a duette shade string that is broken be repaired?

I have a honeycomb type blind string that raises and lowers the blind that is broken. I can see the broken string within the shade. Only one side will lift.

Answers:
Yes, take the blind off the window. Look in the headrail for either a sticker or a piece of paper. This will tell you who manufactured the blind, when and where it was made, the color, model and style. Armed with this information, call the manufacturer. Most have lifetime warranties on their mechanisms. Generally, they will repair or replace the blind with a comparable model. If you are not the original owner, most blind cleaning services will restring duettes for about $20.
