Other than paint, what are all the supplies you need to paint a room?

1.> drop cloth / tarps to cover the floors.
2.> tape to cover things. blue painters tape is good for fragil surfaces because the glue on blue tape is weak, therefor it willnot damage the surface you put it on such as a painted wall or finished wood.
for concrete/metal/glass and other types of non fragil surfaces you can use regular masking type, its the light tan colored type.
3.> rollers. and depending on the texture of the wall youre painting you will need to get a certain type of nap. nap is the wool like part of a pain roller. the rougher and deeper the texture of the wall the thicker and longer the nap should be. if youre painting just a flat basic wall then you can get short nap.
4.> a roller paint tray and a long broom type stick for the roller to screw to.
5.> cut in brush. these are the brushes that go places the roller cant such as along trim and mouldings. before you buy the cut in brush, put it in your hand and pretend like youre using it. get a feel for it, try to follow some sort of straight angle of the stores shelf or whatever. just make sure youre comfortable with the brush. cutting in is the biggest headace of painting.
6.>ladders.
7.> and perhaps a bigger brush in addition to the cut in brush. just depends on how good you are with the paint roller. the closer you get with the paint roller the less you will need to use a brush. for god sakes dont try and get too close to the ceiling with the roller. if you end up getting paint on the ceiling and you dont have any of the ceiling paint form the origional batch then good youre going to have a real problem trying to cover up the dab of paint you got on the ceiling.if you have any doubts, take the blue masking tape and tape off the ceiling in the area where the wall and ceiling meet just to be safe. you can use some newspaper or masking plastic for this.
