Asian inspired bedroom, paint and decor ideas?

I want to turn our bedroom into an Asian-themed room. I have picked up some cute decor items already, but am now at a loss of what color I should paint the room. We have hardwood floors, and also a lot of trim - baseboards, around 3 ajoining windows, and around 2 doors. I am thinking of going with a darker color, so it is cozy. I was wanting to do like a chocolate color or a burgundy color on the walls, but what trim color would look good with that? Also, we have vinyl windows, so if I painted, say burgundy, and did a brownish trim, would the white vinyl windows be too much of a contrast with a dark trim? Someone help suggest colors, please!

Answers:
Red and black are the colors that automatically jump to mind, but I can't imagine using them myself. I have a number of oriental pieces, but I have a rather eclectic thing going on, so I don't paint to match any particular theme. One thing that you might look at is going with a more batik style. Batik can be rather oriental in appearance, and will allow a better spectrum of colors to work with. There's not much hope for tying in the vinyl windows, but at least with batik and colors other than red and black, you will avoid a serious clash. If you've the room for some asian wall art, or especially if you can put some oriental screens in play, then you can create a nice theme that will draw attention to those pieces and away from the walls and windows. In this way, you will not have to be so dramatic with your color choices when it comes to painting.

Other answers:
Red walls with dark, chocolaty trim or a very light natural stain (pine, birch, or beech). White vinyl windows won't match that, so consider finding a way to change that. If you have a red wall up against anything stark white, you wind up thinking "circus tent" - I had that in my living room for a while and grew to hate it.

Burgundy doesn't really seem as Asian to me as a bold red does... I'd steer away from that.

I only know where to get some decor items, colors I guess you would have get some ideas on the internet by going to sites that advertise Asian things. Like doing a general search on Feng Shui sites, shoji items.
