I want to pretty up my hall stairs and landing.......?
Answers: Keep away from blue's and greens. Anything beside a hink of peach/terracotta/warm cream will look warm and inviting. Don't forget you can create temperature with the lighting as capably - you're not having to read or do close work contained by your hallway so you can stir for lighting that will give you a thaw out and cosy effect when it's dark outside.
is the laminate pine coloured? cant help out without knowing this
Hmm do you enjoy a dado running round and at what height from the floor?
ok since you aint replied i'll play this by ear if you hold dado and less than 4ft from the floor cross string and paint top half terracotta weekly bottom half next to a pastel stripe wallpaper vertical stripe very meaningful i recommend a purple/blue stripe combination
or a blue gold combo ;)
I wouldn't wallpaper it, I would put a dark and warmer color over it next to glaze and tablecloth roll it or faux finish it to make it look mottled. I individually love this look. You can also finish it off beside harvest time decor and it should look wonderful adjectives year long.
cookie dough on the bottom and magnolia on top is warm x
a nice antique cream
Have only just done mine with 'Rice Pudding' (available from big B & Qs near paint mixing facilities). Sort of a creamy pale yellowy off-white colour. Light, but warm and will turn with almost anything.
