cleanin an old black iron timberline woodburning stove?

what would I use to clean this.I'm afraid to use anything for fear that it might cause rust.

BAM degreaser removes just about anything. its purple and you can find it in hardware stores.

Check you local hardware store for Stove Black - it is a product which is designed for the job. It makes them black and shine like new.
