Basement ceiling insulation?
As a result, the house is not as warm as it used to be.
Will it relieve if I add R13 insulation within the basement ceiling ? Will it hang on to the living room floor (which is just above the basement) furnace ?
On the same deportment, will adding another blanket of insulation to the attic help surrounded by the winter and summer as well ?
As for the mositure line of defence paper, if I make out correctly, it should be facing up both cases, right ?
Answers: Every home and layout is different so it's difficult to give the "right" answer. Adding insulation to the underground room ceiling would help out and would not hurt anything but why is it so much colder contained by the basement? Yes basements other appear to be cooler but you might want to look into that. Typically in basements massively cheap single pane windows are installed, box sills around the primeter should also enjoy insulation in them.
For your attic; at a rushed glance if you can see the ceiling joist on the floor of the attic you need more insulation. Common fiberglass batts you would find are R-9 up to possibly R-19 for a single vein, you should have at tiniest and R-28, if not include additional. In northern regions unsullied construction they are putting in R-42. If you own a loose fill insulation the rule of the thumb is R-3 per inch of product, lately a guideline if manufacture spec's are not available.
Vapor boom always go towards the warm side; surrounded by the attic the barrier would stir down or closest to the drywall on the ceiling below. Basement probably isn't has picky but technically would run up against the underside of the floor.

A vapor enclosure always will be in motion the heated side. But in you situation, a moment ago use unfaced insualtion in both applications. DO NOT use any plastic to cover anything. This will simply trap moisture.
