Tropical Centerpieces
Tropical flowers are so interesting that just three or four of the same type in a single arrangement create stunning decorative displays.
Anthurium Arrangement
The heart shape of anthurium with their waxy bloom is a favorite and popular tropical flower.
Materials:
long narrow container
2 floral foam bricks
5 stems red anthurium
2 stems anthurium leaves
Spanish moss
play sand
clippers
floral food
Steps :
1. Fill container with floral foam and fill the gaps with moss.
2. Cut anthurium to various heights and push each into the foam. Add leaves to the front edge.
3. Fill container with water treated with floral food.
4. Cover the exposed floral foam with sand.
Orchid Arrangement
Recycle old plastic bottles, cans and jars to make inexpensive vases for favorite tropical flowers.
Materials:
6 stems phaleonopsis orchids
3 stems lycopodium foliage
3 stems coccinea protea foliage
6 stems small anthurium leaves
3 plastic milk bottles
bright spray paint (yellow, green, red or purple)
floral food
clippers
large tray
Steps:
1. Paint bottles as desire and let dry. Fill each with water treated with floral food.
2. Insert two orchids into each bottle so the blooms fall over the edge.
3. Insert one stem of lycopodium and coccinea protea foliage per bottle plus two short anthurium leaves at the rim of each.
4. Place them in a row on a tray for a beautiful display.
Erect Heliconia Arrangement
This very tall arrangement makes a great focal point plus its sculptural effect and simplistic grandeur will amaze guests .
Materials:
4 stems erect heliconia
tall glass vase
dried Malian grass, bear grass or curly willow
wire
moss
floral food
clippers
Steps:
1. Fill vase with water treated with floral food. Place one heliconia upside down in the container with three others right side up at slightly varying heights.
2. Bend Malian grass, bear grass or curly willow around the top edge of the vase as a wreath and secure it with wire hidden with moss.
Other answers:
try a large tropical flower arrangement I suggest the heliconia or maybe some floating gerbera in a beautifully designed bowl of water.
