How to consider for siding?
Answers: you need to amount the square footage of the exterior of your house. Length x height. Then digit out what type of siding you are going to apply, and what the sq. footage is for each piece of siding, and next it's simple division.
For instance, the exterior of my house is 1200 sq feet, which is figure by measuring the outside walls of the house ( 150 ft ) and multiplying by 8, the distance from the ground of the walls. I am applying Hardi-plank siding, 12 ft long, with a 7in. reveal, thus respectively board covers 7 sq ft. Deduct a little for doors and window, and thus I purchased 160 pcs of siding.
Take the tape from one side to other (length) ,next from ground to highest point within wall where wall connected to the roof (high) Times these two numbers will be sf of siding .Then minimize door and porthole sf from that number if there's an opening .
