Are green (a little duller than LIME GREEN)and purple( a lighter purple) good colors to paint your room?

well, according to my art teacher, on the color wheel, every primary, secondary, and intermediate color has a compliment (opposite on the color wheel). Purple and yellow and complimentary colors, as is green and red, orange and blue, etc. but, w/e floats ur boat. if you like green and purple, go for it. i'd say they look fine together, even if my teacher disagrees.

I would say that if you like it, then do it. But you must consider these factors:
If you are doing the repainting in order to ready the house to sell, then it's probably not a good idea. It's better to use egg-shell white or some other neutral (yet boring) color and let the new owner choose their own color plans. However, if you are doing it for YOU, then you need to ask yourself...will I enjoy these colors every day for a very long time? Will I like the color once it's on my wall?
Sure, the sample looks great and it's an awesome color on the paper at the paint store, but that lighting that they have in their store is different from the lighting in your house. Things to ponder.
